These well-known artists’ paintings and sculpture themes ran parallel with the developments that occurred in philosophy, literature, music, and science. In 2014, Courtney Weida, Ed.M.’04, an associate professor of art schooling and the director of graduate artwork training at Adelphi College, co-authored The South Station Hoard: Imagining, Creating and Empowering Violent Remains and edited Crafting Creativity and Creating Craft: Craftivism, Art Education, and Contemporary Craft Tradition She has contributed articles on a wide range of artwork-education topics to the Journal of Cultural Research in Art Education, the Journal of Social Concept in Art Training, the Journal of Visible Culture and Gender, and different publications.
For example, the intensive New Jersey Arts Education Census Project measures grade-degree hours per year of arts instruction for college students in grades Okay-8 and faculty-stage spending on the humanities. Teachers can browse the Visiting Performer Roster to seek out and guide a certified performing artist for their college.
